WHY HYDRO-EXCAVATION IS SO CRUCIAL

Our modern world would be very difficult if it were not for the types of services provided by agencies such as, www.overleys.com, and other vacuum truck companies. Services like hydro-excavation are not seen by many people, but that is only because they tend to be used in situations where traditional types of excavation and clean up would be impossible. In recent years the amount of work with industrial cleaning and excavation services perform has gone up thanks to the increased amount of industrial equipment that is used today, as well as the efforts to clean areas which have been unreachable in the past due to the lack of the proper equipment. Here we are going to review why hydro-excavation is so important to the world today.

Most modern tunnel projects would be impossible if it were not for hydro-excavation technology. Tunnels are what unit cities separated by water, or by impossible divisions such as mountains, and it is only through hydro-excavation that we are able to continue creating the tunnels that unit our country. Looking back in time to the era before hydro-excavation equipment was invented, we see a country which was seriously limited to where it could build tunnels for both transit and utility lines that bring needed recourse to people across the land. Before hydro-excavation services were available, the building of tunnels was sometimes impossible, while other times it meant a grave risk to the workers involved in the process. In Colorado a simple tunnel which united two cities on different sides of the Rocky Mountains, took almost seven years to build and it came at the cost of dozens of injured workers. Without hydro-excavation machines, the majority of the work involved in building a tunnel had to be done manually, with workers entering dangerous zones with little oxygen and the constant threat of a structural collapse. Today, the tunnel such as the one mention in Colorado; could be built within a few months, with very little risk to the workers involved, and that is thanks to hydro-excavation. Most of the important tunnels which have been built over the past thirty years relied either in part or entirely on hydro-excavation, and as we move forward and continue to build up this great nation, the use of hydro-excavation is only going to become more important.

Another instance in which the modern world relies greatly o hydro-excavation is when there is a cleanup effort in a dangerous zone. The most important cleanup efforts involving hydro technology are those that are carried out after an oil spill. Deep beneath the ocean pipelines bring the oil that we need for this country to run, but sometimes those pipelines break and must be repaired. Naturally, traditional means of cleaning up the broken pipe under the sea are impossible; experts must use hydro-excavation to cut away the contaminated parts of the ocean floor. If not for hydro-excavation, the nation’s worst oil accidents could have ended up destroying hundreds of miles of ocean areas, and killing countless marine animals in the process. Hydro-excavation is a great tool for man on both land and in the sea.
